God’s Will

Gods wants you to be happy. Yes that’s it. Nothing more and certainly nothing less. That is what the Ten Commandments are about and Jesus’ abridged version of “Love God and Love your neighbor as your self.” as the fulfillment of the Law. That is all the Bible is about as well as all other religious scriptures. God is talking and has talked to everyone, everywhere, at all times in all languages and cultures.

⁶The lesson is that your will and God’s cannot be out of accord because they are one. (ACIM, T-8.II.3:6)

Did you know the very things we want most in life are the very things God wants for you. If two want the same thing then their wills are one.

Do you want love in your life and in the world around you? As does God.

Do you want peace in you life? So does God.

Do you want joy in your life? As does God.

How would you like people to be longsuffering with you?

Would you like to be able to show more kindnesses and have the same done toward you? So does God.

How about gentleness? Yes you say and more of it, All of these. So does God.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23

If our life is not these things then we have been listening to the wrong teacher. “³The Holy Spirit opposes any imprisoning of the will of a Son of God, knowing that the Will of the Son is the Father’s. ⁴The Holy Spirit leads you steadily along the path of freedom, teaching you how to disregard or look beyond everything that would hold you back.” (ACIM, T-8.II.4:3-4)

“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth…” John 16.13

However if we look where these things can’t be found we are following the wrong guide, in fact we are following a guide who knows nothing but has promised everything, and can’t deliver. That one is surely a false teacher. The best thing we can do in our freedom is to resign as our teacher and follow One who promises ALL and is in fact ALL and has already delivered ALL.

“²Is it possible that the way to achieve a goal is not to attain it? ³Resign now as your own teacher. ⁴This resignation will not lead to depression. ⁵It is merely the result of an honest appraisal of what you have taught yourself, and of the learning outcomes that have resulted.” (ACIM, T-12.V.8:2-5)

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3.5-6

Gods will is, no one dies. Death does not exist. We only think it does because we are so attached to the physical. The appearances of our senses tell us everything is born grows and dies. It’s just nature. Right? Who’s nature are you talking about, the nature we see with the five senses designed to show us only the physical or God’s nature, it is impossible for Her to die. We are all a part of God so we cannot die either. If any of Her creation were to perish so would She. God cannot be other than Himself. Because God is Eternal and Life, there cannot be eternal death. Eternal death is an oxymoron. Only God is eternal. In Him is Life Eternal. Because Life is eternal.

This was Jesus’ one and only purpose for “dying”, to prove by his resurrection, Life does not end, ever.

Every near death experience I have ever read has this one thing in common. All say they no longer fear death.

And the last enemy to be destroyed is death. But only what has no existence can be destroyed. The last enemy—the fear of death—is destroyed by wiping this false belief from the consciousness of our collective human. Life has no enemy, it’ll shine all false beliefs away. In Her there is no shadow, no matter which way you turn, your shadow will not be seen because God is Light and in Her there is no darkness at all. [1 John 1:5]

You and God do want the same thing. You have forgotten who you are so as God’s dear children who were created in the image and likeness of your Father and Mother, we are being called to remember who we really are. It is impossible for anything God made like Herself be corrupted in any way. We just decided sometime long, long ago in galaxy far, far away that we wanted something other. Go figure. Nevertheless the unimaginable took place but we are constantly called to remember, to wake up.

God’s will can have no opposite. God’s will is total and all inclusive there is not a power other than God. She wants nothing. When we come to that place in our journey where we are known as He is known we too will want nothing, we will be total and complete just as She is.

Death is seen as a taking away, a loss, a tragedy of the highest proportion, an injustice and a slap in the face to a loving God, or at best a release from this tragic world. This feeling is the spiritual instinct hidden deep within all of us of who God is and the impossibility of the opposite of God. Death is the negative shadow telling us God is powerless, impotent, vengeful, punishing and just plain mean. It is the opposite of God, futilely attempting to prove God does not exist.

But God does only One thing always and without end: GIVE. Everything we want has already been given, it is right here at this very moment. God needs nothing and has no ego to satisfy. Death if it were real would actually be the negation of God. Deprivation of any kind is actually impossible unless we refuse to receive what has already been given. Any prayer asking for anything is answered by: “open your eyes that you may see.” The kingdom of God is here and now, it is in you and around you as well as everyone else on this planet and all those who have ever lived and will live throughout all eternity.

Rev 21:6 Then He said to me, “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give water to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life, without cost. [see John 4.14]

LIFE without beginning or end, eternal. There is no life without love.

I’d like to close with a quote from a wonderful book by Hellen Keller: Light in my Darkness; “Love should not be viewed as a detached effect of the soul, or an organ, or a faculty, or a function. Love involves the whole body of conscious thought—intention, purpose, endeavor, motives, and impulses—often suppressed, but always latent, ready at any moment to embody itself in act. It takes on face, hands, and feet through the faculties and organs; it works and talks, and will not be checked by any external circumstance once it begins to move toward an objective. Love, the all-important doctrine, is not a vague, aimless emotion, but the desire for good united with wisdom and fulfilled in right action.”

My passion is spiritual growth, reading about those topics, insights and application of principles. My influences are varied: books and experiences gathered along my journey over the last seven decades. I've journeyed through Christian fundamentalism, hedonism, Zen Buddhism, New age thought, Science of Mind, Swedenborg, and now settled down to a world that works for everyone. All of us need everyone all the time. I also love photography please see my work on flicker Flicker: https://www.flickr.com/photos/dhwlighting/
