In the Absolutist perspective God is absolutely God and nothing else. God is absolutely present everywhere. God is the ONLY Power in the universe, the absolute power of the universe. The power of man, individually and collectively all though it appears to be something but is actually NO-thing.
7 “Be strong and courageous, do not fear or be dismayed because of the king of Assyria [represents our conditioned mind] nor because of all the horde that is with him [all our problems the conditioned mind creates]; for the one with us is greater than the one with him. 8 With him is only an arm of flesh [the problems in form we think we see], but with us is the Lord our God to help us and to fight our battles.” And the people relied on the words of Hezekiah king of Judah. (2nd Chronicles 32:7-9 NASB)
“Only an arm of flesh” is another way of stating; mankind without God has no power. Whether it is an individual or the king (authority of some kind) maybe the landlord, water company, banks, or presidents, dictators, or kings whatever is seen as attacking us or threatening us or protecting us, helping us solve our problems, in any way. All power is derived power from the ultimate source of ALL power. GOD. Those without power rely on force which only masquerades as power and actually destroys and dehumanizes all who participate in it’s seeming correctness.
Solving problems via the “arm of flesh” only creates more problems which of course the conditioned mind, the ego, loves.
God knows how to handle our affairs. God is absolutely ALL knowing. When we ask God to be involved with us in our struggles with so called authorities, God knows without equivocation how to handle the situation and he is more than willing to share that information if we will ask the Holy Spirit for Her guidance. If we try to take care of it with the “arm of flesh” we will be renewing our faith in man apart from God and force will be our only solution. Power solves all problems without harm to anyone. Force wishes to destroy anyone, institution or country we feel is against our wishes. It loves to build walls to keep the, “enemy” as other, as far away from us as we feel comfortable. With force death of the “other” is actually a good thing, can’t get more separated than death, can we? That invisible wall between Life and death is impenetrable for those living without God. Death is the enemy of us all if the arm of the flesh is all we depend on. Yet the scriptures tell us that the last enemy to be destroyed will be death. How can something REAL be destroyed? It cannot. God is the only Reality, and Reality cannot change also only Truth is True. Only God is True and in God there is nothing that is not God.
“God is Light.” Absolute light. The light that existed before the creation of the physical sun Gen. 1.14-19 (which is another symbol for “arm of flesh”) Genesis 1:3-4 and it was GOOD, absolute GOOD, the absolute Beneficence of the universe. “This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.” John 1:5
Worry is another way of judging. What if we never worried about anything again??? Worry and fear are ways we tell ourselves that the “arm of flesh” is stronger than God if we believe in Him, God then becomes partial with places of darkness. God has become a duality in this perspective, basically a split personality. Lesson 312 of ACIM (the Course), [CE]. Says “I see ALL things as I would have them be.”[caps mine] there are no exceptions to this. In the Absolute point of view of the Course we either see the perfection that God has in store for us and thus the solution to all our seeming needs/issues/problems, or we see the illusion of our conditioned mind—the ego—in course terminology.
“Projection makes perception.” ACIM T.21.Int.1.1-2
“1 Projection makes perception. The world you see is what you gave it, nothing more than that. But though it is no more than that, it is not less. Therefore, to you it is important. It is the witness to your state of mind, the outside picture of an inward condition. As a man thinketh, so does he perceive. Therefore, seek not to change the world, but choose to change your mind about the world. Perception is a result and not a cause. And that is why order of difficulty in miracles is meaningless. Everything looked upon with vision is healed and holy. Nothing perceived without it means anything. And where there is no meaning, there is chaos.
2 Damnation is your judgment on yourself, and this you will project upon the world. See it as damned, and all you see is what you did to hurt the Son of God. If you behold disaster and catastrophe, you tried to crucify him. If you see holiness and hope, you joined the Will of God to set him free. There is no choice that lies between these two decisions. And you will see the witness to the choice you made, and learn from this to recognize which one you chose. The world you see but shows you how much joy you have allowed yourself to see in you, and to accept as yours. And, if this is its meaning, then the power to give it joy must lie within you.”
