How to see God?

“ I don’t know if God exists. I don’t think God exists” There is so much pain and suffering in the world. If God does exist then wouldn’t He do something about it?

I think seeing God is actually the easiest thing we can ever do. Look at all the good things you have done whether you believe in God or not. I have heard even the most militant atheist say, “I just try to live the best life I can.” Know it or not they are practicing the presence of God. I’ve known some people society labels as “scum of the earth” who do good when they can. Look at yourself and your friends and see if you don’t desire your good and theirs.

When we criticize someones “bad behavior” aren’t we wishing they would do “better” whether or not our criticism is valid. All people on the planet are seeking their good regardless of their methods. I’m not talking here about how well they reflect the Light but that people are doing so no matter how much grime is on the mirror. When we look for the good and acknowledge the Good we see, it actually helps others see it in themselves. We are helping to clean the mirror.

Doing good transcends all barriers, all levels of society, all religions, and races. Whatever God does and sees is only the Good in All mankind, it is the reflection of Her glory no matter how dim the light shines. When we see someone doing good we are seeing the Glory of God.

Exodus 18 Moses said, “Please show me your glory.” 19 He said, “I will make all my goodness pass before you, and will proclaim Yahweh’s name before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy.”

The difference between Jesus and us is he was one on the few in history to have a clean mirror. The mirror was so clean the reflection was mistaken for the Real thing.

John 14:7 If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on, you know him, and have seen him.”8Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us.”9Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you such a long time, and do you not know me, Philip? He who has seen me has seen the Father. How do you say, ‘Show us the Father?’

Mark 10:18 Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except one—God.

Acts 10:38 …Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed him with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil [the “devil” being a metaphor for a clouded reflection], for God was with him.

We cannot help doing good. Doing so is the only thing that makes us feel good. That is a God thing.
