There is a new phrase now called the “spiritual ego.” This is when we enlist the deity to be part of our group. We believe God has put his stamp of approval on our view because we are now following his commands in a “righteous cause” a holly war against some invaders trying to destroy our group/way of life/nation/attacking our core beliefs. We become God’s defenders in a new crusade to protect our fragile group identity.
The “ego” always needs defending believing defense is strength rather than weakness. What else would need protection other than weakness?
Some groups go as far as to tell us the “Prince of Peace” is going to return one day and destroy everyone they disagree with in a genocidal conflagration larger than anything witnessed so far in the history of the world. Does that even make sense?
God does not have an ego. God needs protection from no one, any time any where. God does not even need me to say these things. But I do need to say them for my benefit and maybe some others who are struggling with old beliefs picked up by former associations.
Arbitrary: does not act on whim because She has no ego to be bruised; Oh, the ego makes plenty of sense to itself and will make the reasons for its arbitrariness seem totally reasonable. In fact, it has made our entire world system—a system that within itself seems valid. However, one caveat of most ego systems is that no one is allowed to examine its beliefs, ever. If someone in the group decides to examine and sees the erroneous nature of the beliefs, they are cast out, called heretics, and if society allows, will be killed. Both politics and religion are perfect examples of how this happens. i.e. Jesus’ crucifixion is the perfect example.
Jesus was on the money when he said from the cross, “….they [speaking of man/woman/human race] don’t know what they are doing.” The human race lost the ability to discern the “Truth” when we began to believe in good and evil. The human race became mentally and spiritually blind, hence we do not know what we are doing and incapable of knowing anything real or true. We are mentally compromised with no need to or ability to know anything. (see 1Cor. 2:14) The person believing in the reality of good and evil is a person not in touch with the Spirit of God which is only good, as we see in Gen. ch.1. The belief in good and evil is the eating of the fruit of that tree in Genesis 3. This belief is the ontological substrate of the entire world created after the ingesting of that fruit. It is the ‘world’ that Jesus said he was not the ruler of when confronted by Pilate.
Requires payment for any reason: “Father forgive them because they know not what they do.” “….neither do I condemn you go and sin no more.” God does not keep track of our misdeeds.”
“Love….does not count the bad” 1 Corinthians 13:5 Or, account, calculate, impute. That is, keep account of it; or, count it against a person (be resentful); or, impute it to others. (DLNT)

If God is NOT keeping a record of our wrong doing, our mistakes, what penalty needs to be paid? Why would Jesus need to pay with his blood? No one else needs to pay for my mistakes, we all have our own to deal with.
Sexist, male, female or homophobic: Gen. 1:27 So God created man in his own image; he created him in the image of God; he created them male and female. [Galatians 3:28.] The hot topic today, just as important a the fight for feminine and racial equality. Is Gender a product only of the physical outward appearance or does it go any deeper than this body of flesh? Is our physical body the only thing that matters?
