I Am Sustained by the Love of God.

I Am Sustained by the Love of God.

ACIM W. 50

Do I really believe that? More important do I know that is true?

Jesus put it this way: “Man does not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.” (Matt.4:4) or another way Jesus said: “Truly, truly, I tell you, the Son can do nothing by Himself, unless He sees the Father doing it. For whatever the Father does, the Son also does.” John 5:19

The Goodness of God expressed as his love for us is actually the one sustaining power of our life. No matter how hard I make my life within the tangles and struggles of daily living it is actually the Love of God that gets me the job, house, car, promotion, groceries, children etc., etc. we place our faith on theses things to make us feel safe, loved, provided for but our vision is, in the end misplaced according to all the mystics of the ages.

“Your faith is placed in the most trivial and insane symbols; pills, money, ‘protective clothing’, influence, prestige, being liked, knowing the ‘right’ people, and endless list of forms of nothingness that you endow with magical powers.” ACIM W. 50.1.3

All these things are replacements for the Love of God.” ACIM W.50.2.1 And as such are illusions meant to be something they are not, expressions of the love of God. But nevertheless Life sustains us at whatever level of consciousness we are currently residing.

As I look back over my life I know this to be true. It is only the Love of God that has brought me to this hour and that is all. In the end I have really done nothing.

Thank you for your sustaining Love. How else could it be since I am one with God and God with me. “I and the father are One” Jesus says in John 10:30. It is no different for me than with him, except I don’t know it to the core of my being. I do believe it though. That is the journey with no beginning and no end. It’s the journey to here and now and my true reality.

Jesus speaking: “I have nothing that does not come from God. The difference between us now is that I have nothing else. This leaves me in a state which is only potential in you.” ACIM T.1.II.3:11-13
